HYMN TO LIFE, celebrated poet Timothy Donnelly’s extraordinary long poem, is by turns a tickling and gut-punching rumination down the rabbit-hole of extinction. For the past year, composer David Skeist, director James Rutherford and choreographer Laura Butler Rivera have taken up the task of musically adapting this work for the stage. We are thrilled to present this iteration in the vaulted halls of St. Ann’s and the Holy Trinity: a work-in-progress concert of the poem’s first 23 stanzas performed by a mixed choir of twenty voices, along with a full reading of the poem.
Sunday April 24: 6pm • Monday April 25: 8pm
Please join us for a conversation with poet Timothy Donnelly following Sunday's performance.
